What’s New at RF | Binder: April 2017

At the beginning of April, we held our annual All Agency Summit in our New York office to share our strategic vision for 2017 and beyond. It was fantastic to gather everyone from our Boston, Charleston, Los Angeles, and New York offices together for activities, brainstorming, and a few fun happy hours. April has been a rewarding month in new business, awards and industry recognition for our senior leaders as well. Here are some updates:

RF|Binder is especially passionate about supporting female professional development and women in business. On April 26th we hosted the United Women in Business (UWIB) New York chapter for one of their new Professional Spotlight events. UWIB is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization devoted to the professional and personal development and education of women across all industries. The Professional Spotlight Event Series is a monthly meetup for women focused on a featured industry, with this month’s event focusing on the public relations & communications industry. Three speakers from the public relations industry, including one of our own managing directors Brittnie Bordonaro, discussed their experiences with over a dozen other female professionals over wine and cheese. We look forward to partnering with UWIB NYC and other female professional organizations again in the future.

After a competitive pitch, RF|Binder won the assignment to work with The Arthritis Foundation to position the organization as a relevant cause that Americans and corporate America want to support.  The Arthritis Foundation was established in 1948 and for nearly 7 decades has led the fight for a cure in 100 different types of arthritis, which now affects 1 in 5 adults or 23% of the population.  This work builds on RF Binder’s award-winning work in Corporate Brand Purpose.

We continued our winning streak with three additional Bulldog Media Relations Awards last month: The Rockefeller Foundation for Best Use of a Personality/Celebrity during Insight Dialogues (Gold), Dunkin’ Donuts for Best Food & Beverage Campaign (Bronze) and Chubb for Best Investment, Banking & Financial Services Campaign (Bronze). We also won a Gold Sabre award within the Real Estate and Construction Category for our work on First American Financial Corporation. Congratulations to our Corporate Brand Purpose, Food & Beverage, and Financial Services teams!

Our Chief Strategy Officer and Executive Managing Director of Corporate & Brand Purpose, Scott Beaudoin, shared his thoughts about “checkout charity” and the future of business giving with The Huffington Post. Beaudoin believes the future of business giving “requires a shift from seeing people as consumers to seeing them as a force for good.” Find out what more he and other industry experts have to say about the future of retail and business giving here.
