Amy Binder is the founder and CEO of New York City-based RF|Binder Partners Inc., an integrated communications firm, with branches in Boston, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Amy started her communications career in 1983 at the storied public relations firm of Ruder Finn, founded by her father David Finn, where she rose to become President of Ruder Finn Americas. She founded her own communications firm, RF|Binder in 2001, first as an independently run agency under the Ruder Finn Group umbrella, and then as part of a 2014 restructuring, as a separate woman-owned integrated communications agency.
RF|Binder focuses on working with major global corporations and brands on corporate reputation and brand assignments as well as with entrepreneurs and start-ups. She has embraced the use of advanced analytical tools for measuring the success of social media programs and monitoring in real time client related news and events. Over the past several years she has increased the agency’s commitment to corporate social responsibility for its clients and itself. In addition to overseeing the business direction and growth of the agency, Amy is focused on ensuring that every client receives consistent, high-quality service, has continual access to the agency’s best creative and strategic thinking, as well as ensuring that the agency is offering the most innovative use of newly emerging communications channels.
Amy’s work has been characterized by creating integrated communications programs that work across communications channels from traditional to digital. She has focused on managing the issues and challenges that emerge when the interests of the public, private sector and government converge.
Under Amy’s leadership, RF|Binder has won close to 200 industry awards since the company’ founding, including Creative Agency of the Year from Holmes Report, Best Places to Work in NYC from Crains, and from PRWeek as a finalist for Best Mid-Sized Agency.
Clients have included such diverse organizations as Ameriprise, Bank of America, Booz Allen Hamilton, Cargill, Chubb, Citibank, Dunkin’ Brands, McGraw Hill Education, Rockefeller Foundation, edX, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Schwab and PaxWorld. Amy is a board member of The Institute for Public Relations and the Media Advisory Council for Brown University. She is a member of Columbia Business School's Family Business Program Advisory Board and has been a guest lecturer in its Family Business MBA program. She has been a recent speaker at National Association of Corporate Directors events for public company directors focused on the relationship between Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) issues and corporate strategy.

Vice Chairman, Board Member
Joe Fisher has created and led communication campaigns for companies, organizations and individuals for more than 35 years.
As Vice Chairman of RF|Binder, he focuses on the strategic issues that clients face as they adjust to the evolving digital media environment. Most recently, he was the chief executive officer of Burson Marsteller N.A. and a member of the worldwide executive board of Young & Rubicam.
Joe began his career with an M.B.A. in marketing from Columbia University. He was a senior executive at two of the world’s largest ad agencies, Grey and Ted Bates, before opening his own agency. There, he was an early and aggressive advocate of Ed Ney’s ‘Whole Egg’ – integrating public relations with advertising to create more powerful campaigns for his clients.
With this combined experience in public relations and advertising, Joe brings an unusual perspective to clients as they balance the interests of customers, shareholders and the public. It drives his work on brand positioning, corporate reputation, public opinion, public affairs, and issues & crisis management.
Joe has worked with leading corporations, governments and non-governmental organizations here and around the world including Citigroup, Procter & Gamble, Visa, Xerox, Kraft, Legg Mason, Unilever, Qualcomm, Nabisco, Accenture, Colgate-Palmolive, Kleiner-Perkins, Google Ventures, the American Bankers Association, the Consumer Federation of America, the U.S. Department of the Treasury, and the European Union.
Prior to Columbia University, Joe earned a B.A. in Economics from Fordham University. He was a captain in the U.S. Air Force and has served on public and private boards.
Executive Managing Director, Head of Food, Drinks & Nutrition, Board Member
Atalanta Rafferty oversees strategic corporate communications programs, working extensively in the food and consumer lifestyle industries. She brings 20 years of experience working on corporate and consumer communications issues for category & market leaders, emerging companies, as well as family and founder businesses.
For the last ten years, Atalanta has worked with clients across sectors including food and food biotech, lifestyle and wellness, CPGs, wine, spirits and beverages managing integrated consumer marketing programs. Atalanta is an expert in navigating disruption having dealt with issues of sustainability, food safety, nutrition, product labeling on the one hand and retail promotions, large scale consumer events and the advent of food bloggers and social media on the other. Over the years, Atalanta has developed and executed strategic partnerships with not-for profit organizations, influences, celebrities, and organizations to support her clients’ business goals. Through these experiences Atalanta has honed an expertise in helping to launch new products & categories as well as supporting geographic expansions and brand transformations.
Atalanta also has a background in journalism and crisis communications. She received a B.A. with honors from Brown University. She is bilingual in French and English and has a basic knowledge of German.
Executive Managing Director, Head of Boston Office
Josh is an Executive Managing Director at RF|Binder. With a background in both public relations and social media, he has worked closely with both established consumer brands and innovative start-ups to develop creative communications programs, media and influencer strategies, and compelling social content to engage organizations’ key audiences and significantly increase awareness and coverage.
In his 20 years of work with top PR agencies throughout the country, Josh has created and managed national and regional marketing communications campaigns for some of the world’s most respected brands, including Dunkin’ Donuts, Planet Fitness, Zipcar, Fidelity, Microsoft, Krispy Kreme, Kayem Foods and America’s Forest & Paper Association.
Josh holds a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He recently served as president of the Boston Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America, for which he remains a board member. He also serves on the board of directors for World Ocean School, a nonprofit helping underserved kids through educational programs aboard the historic ship Roseway.
Chief Creative Officer
David Weinstock brings more than 20 years of experience in advertising, design, marketing, digital, PR, experiential and content creation to his position as Chief Creative Officer at RF|Binder.
Prior to joining RF|Binder, he was the Executive Creative Director for MSLGROUP NY, where he founded the creative department and oversaw creative across all channels on the agency’s lead accounts. His clients included P&G brands such as Crest, Oral B, Nyquil, Febreze, Bounty, and Charmin. In 2014, David’s campaign for March of Dimes won PRWeek’s Nonprofit Campaign of the Year, Publicity Club of New England’s Silver Bell Award, In2 SABRE’s In2 Advertising Award, and Pro Awards’ Platinum Award.
Prior to the MSLGROUP, David served as VP, Creative Director at MKTG Inc. in New York, Creative Director of On-Air Marketing at The Oprah Winfrey Network, SVP, Director of Design at MRM/McCann Worldwide, and SVP, Director of Design at Campbell Mithun Minneapolis. He has received recognition from the American Institute of Graphic Arts, Ad Week, Creativity Magazine, SHOOT Magazine, Graphic Design USA, Print Magazine, Ad Age, and the Broadcast Designers Association.
As an award-winning commercial director, David created and directed broadcast, online, and in-cinema campaigns for clients including Sony, Nokia, Nike, MTV, Oppenheimer Funds, US Bank, Bayer, and TGI Fridays, to name a few. He received a Clio for a campaign he directed for Trojan Condoms. His directorial work has been highlighted in Adweek’s “Ad of The Day,” Brand Freak, and Boards Magazine.
David is a graduate of Pratt Institute in New York with a degree in Communications Design.
Chief Financial Officer, Board Member
As Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, Jason is responsible for managing RF|Binder’s global financial operations. Jason oversees financial strategy and planning, budgeting, auditing, treasury, legal functions and financial systems, as well as contributes to business planning. Jason oversees human resources, company insurance, contracts and agreements, corporate level negotiations including real estate and major supplier and clients contracts.
Prior to joining RF|Binder, Jason held positions with Cross Media Marketing, a publicly traded online & traditional direct marketing company, first performing due diligence on potential acquisitions and later responsible for the financial operations of the Print Division as Controller. At Grant Thornton, he served clients seeking to acquire other companies with Due Diligence and M&A services, and at Deloitte & Touche, he served financial, consumer, and telecom clients in an audit advisory role.
He holds an M.B.A. from Fordham Business School with a dual concentration in Finance and Media & Communications and received his B.S. in Accounting from St. John’s University and is a Certified Public Accountant. He is a member of the New York Society of CPA’s and he serves as a Director on the Fordham Business School Alumni Association.
Executive Managing Director
Bill works with business leaders on communications strategies that help companies strengthen their competitive position, drive growth and protect the reputation of their brands. A former editor, journalist and senior communications executive at leading financial institutions, he has worked with investment banks, asset managers, hedge funds, private equity firms, financial technology firms, exchanges and trading platforms, and energy companies.
In 2011, he founded Bryant Park Financial Communications, winner of the PR Week’s 2015 Award for Best IR/Financial Communications Program. Bryant Park’s clients include a leading global investment, the largest electronic trading platform for corporate bonds, and the largest independent registered investment advisor in the United States.
Previously, Bill was a Senior Partner at Gavin Anderson, a global communications consultancy. He joined Gavin Anderson from Edelman, where he headed the account team that won the Public Relations Society of America’s Silver Anvil Award for investor relations counsel to a Midwest utility undergoing restructuring.
His corporate background includes serving as Managing Director of Corporate Communications at Bankers Trust and Corporate Affairs Executive for Bank of America’s Asset Management Group, with responsibility for the bank’s mutual fund, private bank, brokerage and alternative investments businesses.
A graduate of the School of Journalism at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Bill worked five years in Paris as Financial Editor of the International Herald Tribune and was previously an editor on the national news desk of The Wall Street Journal in New York. He has been a contributor to The New York Times, Directors & Boards, Global Finance magazine and TABB Forum, a website on financial markets and technology.
Wine Industry Counselor
Bruce Schneider provides strategic counsel to RF|Binder and its clients in the wine industry. As a third-generation wine industry professional with a background in grape growing, wine making, public relations, and new product development he brings a valuable perspective to regional wine promotion organizations and the wine producers they represent.
Over his 20-year career, Schneider has been a political campaign field coordinator, founder and chief executive of his own agency, the founder, winemaker and managing director of Schneider Vineyards, a 22-acre cabernet franc focused vineyard on the North Fork of Long Island, director of marketing for the Clicquot, Inc. division of LVMH USA, a wine importer, and co-founder of Gotham Project, a pioneer of wine-on-tap. He has counseled clients from every major wine producing country in the world.
Bruce has a M.B.A. from Columbia University and a B.A. in History from Washington University; he was the second investment recipient of The Eugene Lang Entrepreneurship Fund at Columbia University School of Business.
Managing Director, Head of Education
Will Maroni is a Managing Director at RF|Binder, and the leader of the firm’s Education practice. He works across a variety of corporate and institutional education accounts, focusing primarily on strategy development, editorial content creation and media relations.
In his time at RF|Binder, Will has designed research-based strategic messaging programs for clients across a variety of industries, and he has directly supported several major brand transformations within the education space. He has strong relationships with reporters at a variety of national, technology and industry-trade outlets, and he has ghost-written and placed executive editorials in such outlets as The Financial Times, The Huffington Post, U.S. News & World Report, EdSurge, Wired, The National Journal and InformationWeek, among others. In addition to media relations, his experience in corporate communications also extends to both international and internal communications.
Beyond his traditional communications experience, Will has long worked closely with both RF|Binder’s research team and its digital media team. On the research side, he has conducted and overseen extensive, in-depth analyses both of media coverage and of industrial trends within a variety of sectors. In terms of digital media, he has developed and executed award-winning online and social media strategies for a variety of corporate clients.
Executive Managing Director, Board Member
As a member of our board, Steve primarily works in the areas of strategic planning, agency expansion, new business development, client retention and legal affairs.
Steve has been a long time counselor to the Agency. He served as our outside corporate counsel from our inception in 2001 until 2014. In 2014, Steve joined RF Binder’s Board of Directors and in Fall 2016, Steve came on board full time as Executive Managing Director.
Prior to joining RF Binder, Steve spent two plus years helping to run a hedge fund, which included work in the regulatory, compliance and marketing areas of the firm. As an attorney, Steve has extensive experience in domestic and international business transactions, with a focus in the financial services area. He has served as counsel to major banks and other financial institutions.
As a law partner he chaired the Business and Technology Group for the New York office of the national law firm, Cooley LLP, and prior to that he chaired the Corporate Department and Banking and Other Financial Institutions group in the predecessor law firm, Kronish Lieb. He also helped form and lead for a number of years, Interlaw Ltd, an association of independent law firms worldwide, with 55 member firms and 110 offices during his tenure.
During his legal career, Steve, at various times, was the head of his firm’s and Interlaw’s marketing and public relations functions. Steve has been listed many times by Euromoney/Law Media Group in its “Guide to the World’s Leading Banking Lawyers.” He has a B.S. in Engineering from Cornell University, an M.B.A. from Cornell’s Johnson Graduate School of Management and a J.D. from the Cornell Law School, where he was an Editor of its Law Review.
Executive Managing Director, Head of Impact, Head of San Francisco Office
Annie Longsworth joins RF|Binder on October 31, 2017 as an Executive Managing Director and head of our new RF|B Siren division. She will also lead our new San Francisco office. Annie is a brand and communications leader committed to positive change and social impact through business. Prior to joining RF|Binder, she was the Founder and CEO of The Siren Agency, which she launched in January 2015, after three years as CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi S. Prior to Saatchi & Saatchi S, Annie spent nine years as President of Cohn & Wolfe, San Francisco, where she launched and led the global sustainability practice. Through a combination of ongoing insight collection, strategic discovery, and social storytelling, Annie and her team have been devoted to helping tomorrow’s brands solve their hardest problems and build relationships with their most important customers.
Longsworth’s past and current clients include Caesars Entertainment, Ramblers Way, Jackson Family Wines, The Coca-Cola Company, Johnson & Johnson, Tom’s of Maine, and American Express. She was one of the original partners on WPP’s Global Green Brands study, an annual survey that assessed attitudes and buying behaviors of more than 9,000 consumers. Longsworth led the research for six years and served as a key spokesperson to share the insights.
She is a lifetime member of the advisory board of Sustainable Brands and has spoken on green consumer behavior and business responsibility at numerous conferences and events. Longsworth was named CSR Professional of the Year in 2016 by PR News, has been recognized by TriplePundit as one of the most influential women in CSR, and by the San Francisco Business Times as one of the Bay Area’s Most Influential Women in Business.
Karina Frayter brings over a decade of experience in business journalism and television news production. Prior to joining RF|Binder, Frayter was a field producer at CNBC Business News, where she covered a broad range of topics including stock market, IPOs, economy, banking, financial technology and payments. Frayter has extensive experience producing breaking news, investigative reports and in-depth interviews with corporate executives. She produced CNBC’s long-running series “Where the Jobs Are,” and her digital documentary "The Bitcoin Uprising" was awarded an Honorable Mention by Cablefax Program Awards.
Prior to joining CNBC in 2010, Frayter was an assignment editor at CNN in New York, where she helped shape the network’s coverage of business and economic news during the height of the financial crisis. In addition, she served as a producer for the network’s leading business correspondent.
At the start of her journalism career, Frayter worked at CNN-International in London and Atlanta, as well as at News 12 Connecticut. She was awarded the Reynolds Business Journalism Week Fellowship by Donald W. Reynolds National Center for Business Journalism at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. Frayter was also a fellow with the Council of Women World Leaders.
Frayter holds a master's degree in International Affairs from Columbia University, School of International and Public Affairs and a bachelor's degree in Political Science from Manhattanville College, where she graduated summa cum laude.
Executive Managing Director, Head of Corporate & Financial Services
David is an experienced public relations practitioner with a focus on corporate communications. Over the course of the past 15 years, he has held leadership roles at agencies and led corporate communications for a global firm in an in-house capacity. Most recently, David was a Senior Vice President at a prominent integrated communications agency where he led a number of the firm’s accounts and was the crisis management lead in the US. His industry experience includes financial services, pharmaceutical, technology including fintech and edtech, government, and professional services. David is an expert in supporting new products & categories having led the launch of financial products including ETFs and indices, and numerous corporate announcements around mergers and acquisitions. Passionate about issues management and crisis communications, David has more than a decade's experience working on crises across multiple industries for businesses ranging from category & market leaders to emerging companies. David has advised senior executives and led responses for numerous issues and crisis situations including data breach, cyber security, executive transitions, patient deaths and other sensitive situations. He has developed educational programs for crisis management and numerous training sessions to help companies and executives enhance their ability to mitigate damage to their reputation. David brings strong client-side perspective having spent three years as Head of U.S. Corporate Communications for World Gold Council, the market development organization for the global gold market. While there, he led media relations for the firm while also overseeing PR, Marketing and Advertising for SPDR Gold Shares (GLD), the world’s largest physically backed gold exchange traded fund. Prior to joining World Gold Council he was a Vice President at MSLGroup’s corporate practice and a core member of the agency’s Issues and Crisis team. Before beginning his career in public relations, David was Series 7 and 63 licensed financial representative. David is a graduate of Boston University where he earned dual degrees in Psychology and Political Science.
Senior Managing Director, Strategic Initiatives, Board Member
Rebecca Binder is a Senior Managing Director responsible for the development and implementation of Strategic Initiatives for the agency. She oversees strategic planning, expansion of products and services to meet emerging client needs, new business development, talent and culture development, operational efficiency, and strategic communications consulting. Over the course of her career, she has worked with Fortune 500 companies, government agencies, international organizations, non-profits, and start-ups. Most recently, Rebecca worked at Innosight, a growth strategy consulting firm, where she advised C-suite executives on developing long-term transformational growth strategies in the face of disruption. She also launched and led the Diversity & Inclusion Initiative and oversaw the integration across teams and geographies. Prior to Innosight, Rebecca worked with the global management consulting firm, Booz Allen Hamilton, where she led cross-functional teams in the federal practice, advising her clients on strategic planning, process improvement, risk management, data quality, and performance monitoring. Rebecca began her career at The Corporate Executive Board, where she investigated, analyzed, and reported implementable solutions to key issues faced by finance and strategy executives. Rebecca received her MBA from Harvard Business School and her BA with honors in International Relations from Brown University.

Jackie is an Executive Managing Director at RF|Binder, where she leads Strategic Initiatives for the CEO. Her primary responsibilities include strategic positioning and planning, operational efficiency, talent and culture development, new business development, corporate and public affairs advisory, and strategic consulting. She is an experienced business builder and advisor on matters relating to strategy, corporate and public affairs, integrated communications, government relations, reputation management, CEO positioning, and media relations strategy. Over the course of her 25+ year career, she has worked with leading corporations, governments, educational institutions, and nonprofit organizations around the world.Prior to RF|Binder, Jackie was a Senior Managing Director and Senior Advisor at Teneo, where she was a founding member, and responsible for special projects for the Chairman and CEO, Declan Kelly. During her time there she was instrumental in launching and commercializing the Teneo Strategy and Teneo Risk divisions. She was also responsible for key global client accounts, campaigns and teams across a broad spectrum of industries. Before Teneo, she was Senior Counsel to the U.S. State Department’s Economic Envoy toNorthern Ireland, Declan Kelly, where she advised on matters relating to transatlantic trade, government relations, economic development, communications, and new market entry. She has held other senior roles at RF|Binder Partners, Ruder Finn, and Empire State Development Corporation in New York and London. She is a US/UK dual national and has worked across the Americas, Europe, Australia and Asia.

Hannah is a Manager at RF|Binder where she works with clients in the food, drinks and nutrition space including Wines of Germany, AlgaPrime, and Truvia. Before her time at RF/Binder, Hannah worked at MULTIPLY, where she gained 3+ years of experience working with a variety of brands including Ace Hardware, Cruzan Rum, Laphroaig Scotch Whisky and Corona Beer. Through her experience as a public relations professional, Hannah has cultivated strong relationships with media spanning across print, online, and broadcast outlets, managed influencer programs, and assisted in executing several national campaigns. Hannah is a 2015 graduate of Hofstra University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations.
As a Managing Director, Craig is responsible for the strategic oversight and execution of integrated communication programs for Truvia Natural Sweetener, AlgaPrime DHA and Baskin-Robbins, among other accounts. Craig brings over twelve years of experience in the food industry. Throughout his career, he’s worked on established CPG brands, like Quaker, Dannon, and Unilever – and food technology start-ups like TerraVia and Perfect Day. Most recently, Craig has worked on Morton Salt, leading the brand’s CSR campaign centered around food waste.
Craig's work with clients has driven earned media coverage, influencer advocacy, compelling digital content and conversations, thought leadership and policy change for his clients. Craig’s passion is the development of brand platforms and communication strategies – using consumer research and industry trends to find a brand’s “sweet spot.” When not at work, Craig can be found with his two-year-old daughter and wife at the beach, or in upstate New York enjoying the mountains.
Kelly is a Director at RF|Binder, working on the Dunkin’ Corporate and Dunkin’ New York accounts. She focuses on national and local media relations and strategy, local media events and consumer activations, large-scale partnerships and more. Kelly brings more than seven years of marketing and communications experience working on a variety of consumer brands, including Premier Protein, PowerBar, Post Consumer Brands, DICK’s Sporting Goods, CALIA by Carrie Underwood, Courtyard by Marriott and Hasbro. She has developed and executed national and local PR and communication campaigns, created strategic media and influencer programs, targeted media outreach for business, consumer and local press opportunities, curated large scale events with top-tier celebrities, world-class athletes, nutritionists, chefs, and more. Kelly also worked closely on a variety of new product launches, teaming up with recipe developers to ideate creative recipes for new cereals, energy bars, shakes and more. Kelly graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 2011 with a degree in Communication Studies and minor in Psychology. In her free time, Kelly is spending time trying new restaurants, spending time outside and planning her next trip!
Danielle Alvarado is a Manager at RF|Binder. Her background is a blend of media relations, social media and influencer marketing. She comes from a diverse background that spans the consumer and hospitality spaces thanks to clients like Dunkin', Truvia Natural Sweetener, Grand Marnier, Gerber Group and more. As a creative writer and social media maven at heart, Danielle's expertise and personal passions align perfectly with public relations and social media. These interests, coupled with her experience, lend her the ability to create and execute truly integrated and results-driven campaigns for clients across a variety of industries and platforms. Danielle was born and raised in New York, but recently relocated to the west coast to fulfill her dream of living in California.
