Ranbaxy

Ranbaxy Laboratories Limited, based in New Delhi, is India’s largest pharmaceutical company. It is a major producer of multisource antibiotics, anti-bacterial products, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), analgesics and anti-ulcer/gastrointestinal drugs. Ranbaxy is also the largest exporter of pharmaceuticals and the sixth largest overall exporter in India, as well as the largest spender on R&D in the Indian pharmaceutical industry.

The agency was originally engaged pursuant to the Company’s $100 million GDR offering in the US and UK. This was a Rule 144 transaction, which provided for limited liquidity in the aftermarket for the Company’s GDRs. The Company anticipated a full ADR issue/program sometime in the near future and was keen on building a body of knowledge among both the US and European investment communities about Ranbaxy and its business strategy. RF|Binder supported interest in the Rule 144 offering and developed and helped implement the Company’s investor relations strategy in the aftermarket.
